Weekly Thoughts #3

1. Delaware's Corporation Trust Center has 285k businesses addressed there

2. This review of Ilis

3. Court Street Bagels - So at some point earlier this year a beloved bagel shop Court Street Bagels announced that it was closing. And immediately weird things happened. Someone named Craig Richardson said on Facebook that he was the owner and that some of the reasons for closing included break ins and insurance let downs and that they would be moving somewhere with "less crime/vandalism". But it turns out he is in fact not the owner, one of the things he said was true. And then it got even WEIRDER because on the Monday that Court Street Bagels was supposed to close...it just...didn't. It was open for business the next day with the same people working the counter. At the same time, on the r/Brooklyn subreddit someone claiming to be a family member of the business said that the business was not closing. Obviously this led to even more confusion as the owner said that the lease had expired and that he had left the property assuming it would be closed. And so it seems that it was sold to the partner of Smith Street Bagels (a major competitor in the area) and that his lease just simply started as soon as CSB's owner vacated the property.

4. There is a TikTok creator called Tunnel Girl who participates in ... hobby tunnelling? Which is in fact illegal for the obvious reasons

5. Biennial Transparency Reports, which countries must submit before the end of the year, will help determine where we are on meeting climate goals and make for an easier comparison between countries as there is standardized reporting. Certainly not enough but it will be the first time that countries are submitting a full accounting of their emissions and climate actions.
